- My mum’s savoury cake

A few of my friends asked for the recipe after tasting it, so here it is…. It is the perfect snack for a picnic, for a light dinner served with a salad. You can keep it in the fridge for a few days, it will still be moist and delicious !

For a loaf baking tin :

Ingredients :

– 200g flower

– 100g grated cheese (cheddar is perfect)

– 10g of baking powder ( = a full tsp)

– 5 eggs

– 100g chopped flat parsley

– 3 tbsp of French strong mustard

– 250g of ham chopped in small chunks

– 80g green olive roughly chopped

Mix flower and eggs, add baking powder and all the remaining ingredients, butter the tin, pour the preparation and bake it for 30-35 min, oven 200°.

To find out if it is ready, prick the cake with a knife, the blade as to be clean, if it is wet, leave it a bit more. If you are vegetarian, it is also very nice without ham. To make little loafs like on the picture, it is exactly the same recipe with a bit less cooking (around 20-25 min) otherwise they will be dry. It looks great, tastes great and it’s so easy !
