- I missed God

I still can’t believe that God came at work and I didn’t see him ! It is not every day that you can see God in person and I managed to miss him! Nobody told me… He booked in the restaurant downstairs (obviously not under his name) and that night, I was working upstairs. That’s my destiny. Being so close to God and not having the opportunity to meet him, he must have done it on purpose, I must have been a bad girl in my previous life…

Nobody at the reception told me as they probably didn’t know who he was, their God is more Christian Louboutin which defintely matches best with such a trendy and glamorous private members club.

So, Ferran Adria was there last Sunday evening, the chefs were excited and honored to cook for him and me, who didn’t see him… All right, all right, no need to brood over it again and again. I haven’t seen him but I know why he was in London. On Monday the 30th, he launched the ‘Food is great’ campaign. It is a campaign promoting the British gastronomy which is one of the 7 touristy main stay in UK. The renewal for the British cuisine leaded to that ceremony in the heart of London with Jamie Oliver as ambassador. The event welcomed previous years’ award winners of the ‘World’s 50 best restaurants’ like God himself, Igniatus Chan from Singapore, Thomas Keller of ‘The French Laundry’ and ‘Per Se’ in New-York just to name a few and more than 150 influential people in the food industry.

The national agency of tourism wants to give rise to the excellence of the British gastronomy. With more than 30000 restaurants (145 with a Michelin star), which a few are now classified in the ‘World’s top 50’ best restaurants, the aim is to improve Britain gastronomy’s image but also to promote local products. Lamb from Wales, Scottish salmon, sea salt from Anglesey or oysters from Whitstable. Jointly organized with the SRA (Sustainable Restaurant Association) whose mission is to help restaurants to find the right balance, serving local and very good quality products to make United Kingdom the leaders in terms of sustainable development.

Here is a picture of God with his saints at the ‘Food is Great’ party.

Regarding the classification of the’ 50 world’s best restaurants’ this year,  http://www.theworlds50best.com/, nothing has changed for the 3 firsts, Danemark and Spain in the lead. England is in 9th position with Dinner of Heston Blumenthal as to France, Joël Robuchon is saving us thanks to his restaurant ‘L’Atelier’ in Paris which is the 12th. God doesn’t compete anymore as his restaurant ‘El Bulli’ in Spain is closed. I tell you a secret, I heard that he will open a restaurant in London…

Finally, God is getting closer to me….
